This thing does pictures up to 160 million pixels. Uncompressed, the files are roughly a gig per shot. In case you want to see every vein on every leaf on every branch on every tree in the whole forest.
The next time I have $5,400 and no where to spend it, I'll be sure to give this machine some consideration. But I'm afraid it won't fit into my shirt pocket like my Nikon Coolpix S1 doe.

Very true, but think of the level you can zoom into on pictures and still have crystal quality imagery!
